Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: May 29, 2026
Under Meta's User Data Deletion requirement and applicable privacy law, you can ask messengerapp to delete the personal data we hold about you. This page explains exactly how to make that request and what happens after you submit it.
What data this covers
If you have ever sent a message to a Facebook Page or Instagram Business account that is connected to messengerapp, we may hold:
- The text, images, and short videos you sent in those conversations.
- Your Meta-issued sender identifier (Page-scoped ID or Instagram-scoped ID).
- Your display name and profile picture as Meta provided them.
- If you chose to share it via a phone-number Quick Reply, your phone number.
A deletion request removes all of the above from our databases and from our object storage. Anonymized aggregate counts (e.g., "this Page received N messages in May") may be retained for billing and capacity-planning purposes.
How to request deletion
Send an email to the address below. You do not need an account on messengerapp to make the request.
To help us locate your data quickly, please include:
- The name of the Facebook Page or Instagram Business account you sent messages to (e.g., "MotoVerse - Motorcycle Community").
- The Facebook profile name or Instagram username you used.
- An approximate date of the most recent message you sent, if you remember.
- A confirmation that you are the owner of the account in question. We may ask Meta-provided sender identifiers to verify the match.
What happens next
- Within 3 business days — we acknowledge your request by email and confirm the conversations we have located.
- Within 30 days — we delete the matching conversation records and attachments from our databases and object storage, and we email you the deletion confirmation.
- If we cannot find your data — we will tell you so within 7 business days. This usually means the Page you messaged is not (or no longer) connected to messengerapp.
Automatic deletion via Meta
If you have authorized messengerapp through a Facebook Login flow (for example, while connecting your own Page as an administrator), you can also revoke our app from Meta's side:
- Open facebook.com → Settings → Apps and Websites.
- Find messengerapp in the active list and click Remove.
- Meta will notify our backend, which triggers an automatic deletion of the Page Access Tokens and onboarding session data on our side.
Removing the app from Meta does not automatically delete past conversation messages — for that, email us using the steps above.
